Wiesbaden Germany, May 13, 1956: Australian Lew Hoad lunges for the ball during his 10-8, 6-3, 6-2 win over 1950 U.S. Open champion Art Larsen in the finals of the International Golden Ball tennis tournament. Hoad enjoyed his finest year in 1956, winning Wimbledon and the French and Australian championships and reaching the finals of the U.S. championships before losing to Ken Rosewall.
