Kennedy, D-Mass., is interviewed at Rhein-Main at the start of a tour of U.S.
military installations in Germany. Kennedy, a member of the Senate Armed
Services Committee, stressed that he would oppose any efforts to cut
servicemembers' pay, but was "concerned about gold-plated weapons systems
that are very, very costly and I don't believe provide any additional security
for the United States or for our allies."
