Berlin, February 27, 1969: President Richard Nixon strikes a familiar pose as he greets the crowd from atop his limousine on the streets of West Berlin. It was one of six stops Nixon made along the parade route. "You stand as a symbol for freedom and peace," he said in a speech at the conclusion of the motorcade. "And in that sense all the people of the free world are Berliners."
